First trip of the year. Happy CNY!

27-30 Jan 2017

I decided to go home for the long weekend. It was special because my sister was able to take leave to be with us. I arrived at night hence, we spent our first night together in my place. The following day, without any plans, we drove to San Juan, Batangas hoping that we would find an affordable accommodation for the night.

We saw a sign, Calubcob Bay Recreation and Resort. We turned right to the muddy and unpaved road. At the end of the road was a huge gate guarded by 2 security officers. We left an ID, they opened the gates. And TADAH!

The compound looked huge and expensive. I wanted my parents to enjoy, yet I would still want to stay in place that wasn’t too pricey. Anyway, inside the compound were obstacle training grounds, 2 huge pools, billiard table, play ground and a black sand beach (I wanted to go to a white sand beach), at P4k for the 4 of us. Well, it sounded reasonable to me, so, we took it.

Upon check-in, we already ordered our dinner, so that it would be ready as soon as we felt the need for the banquet to be served. While waiting and watching the sun setting, we played by the beach and the ground. We just laughed the whole afternoon away. It was enjoyeable. By 7:30pm, we decided to get our dinner.

After our sumptious meal, we had coffee and called it a night. A beautiful one.

Next day, we just played a little by the beach and had our breakfast. We drove back to Manila to attend the Sunday mass, to shop a little and to send my sissy back to her accommodation. Since we all finished late, I just asked my parents to directly take me to the airport after dinner. I had to be at the airport at 3am anyway for my 5am flight.

It was indeed a short vacation, but it was all worth-it. I did it because my dad’s birthday would be happening few days after the CNY. I thought, I might at least celebrate it ahead with him and my family!
