I was a Panda mascot for a day. This was in relation to the Earth Day last Friday. A friend invited me to participate in this Panda Run (Mascots running around Marina Area) event to facilitate awareness about the Earth Day. He invited me only on Thursday night and since part of my New Year’s resolution this year was to say yes to ALMOST everything, without much thinking, I said yes!
I loved it. If not for the intense heat and limited peripheral vision (much respect to those doing this for a living), I could say that I enjoyed it very much because inside that suit, I could dance and act crazy without worrying that someone would know and judge me. I was a no body who looked exactly like all the other pandas. Even my co-pandas wouldn’t recognise who was who inside the suit. Somehow, I felt like there’s more freedom inside that suit than in real life.
It felt like how I would feel when traveling in foreign countries. I am a NOBODY. No one knows me and there’s freedom knowing as such!
