I went to Sri Lanka last week and realised that indeed, it’s a tourist friendly destination. People were friendly and it’s quite easy to find trust-worthy people. I felt safe, even when climbing hills on my own.
My favorite place was Mirissa. Sand was as fine as Boracay’s, fine and powder-like despite the color was a bit orangy/pinkinsh. The waves were a beauty. I think, people who are into surfing would enjoy these very much. It’s not as crowded as Boracay and it’s more peaceful too. Better than Bali beaches too.

See how tall the waves are?
I also liked Sigiriya because it’s jungle-like. Not much transportation, and if there is, it’s cheaper as compared to other places in Sri Lanka. I liked it’s uncemented roads, clay, dust, dirty stuff and of course that majestic Sigiriya Rock.
Well, I hope to check out the west and northern parts too…Next time..;)
