29 Nov-1 Dec
We took the van from Tagbac Bus terminal (you can also tale Ceres buses) to Caticlan for less than P400/pax (I forgot the exact price). It was a 5 hour trip with a short stop over for lunch. We reached the port, got the Island pass at P335/pax which included a 2 way ferry ride and those extra charges x 2 (Meaning , we won’t need to queue to buy tickets going out of the island). After less than 30mins of ferry ride, we reached the famous island of Boracay.
We took Tricycle at P100 to our accommodation, Island Inn Hotel. After checking in, we decided to walk along the shore and see the island’s beautiful sunset view, had dinner and went back to the hotel. I came out again to walk a little bit more with my friends who were also checked-in in a different hotel.
The next day, we contacted kuya Bobby ( +639159032729/+63215023671) who gave us an island hopping tour package of P600/pax , instead of the well-publicised price of P800. He picked us up from our hotel and sent us to the meeting place for the tour. Tour included snorkelling gadgets (but not the P20 permit to snorkel in that area and P200 entrance to Crystal Cove) delicious lunch and other islands, weather-permitting. We only managed to snorkel in one area for 30mins visit Crystal Cove and swam in a nice and clear Nami Beach Resort. Weather wasn’t friendly during that day, hence, we weren’t able to visit some of the more popular islands.
Came the night time, we again decided to watch sunset and walk along the beach towards the other end. It’s really beautiful in a unique way. Owners of businesses were mostly foreigners. The hyped up night-life experience amidst the sand and the backdrop of the sun setting was just so overwhelming for me. There were too many things happening at one time. Under the tree, you could still see some beggars, which was a bit sad to see. Anyway, the experience was still good because it was new…
The next day, after breakfast, we had a few more photos taken, checked out of our hotel and then headed back to Kalibo for our flight back to Manila. (Van from Caticlan to Kalibo- P175/Pax, don’t fret, they’re all just waiting outside the port of Caticlan)
