I know it’s against any sports’ rules for an athlete to participate if they are not feeling well. But I just couldn’t help it. I wanted to take my mind off my IELTS test and I just couldn’t really say no to running. Also, I love this run’s cause….Run Against Racism… and Oh! I’ve got a timing to beat..hehe With these reasons in mind, I thought, I must go!
Temperature was up. I guess it’s 32-33’C. I was having blocked nose and was feeling a bit feverish inside. 10Km was almost nothing to me now, or at least, that was what I thought before the run started, especially because the route was familiar to me. It’s my usual practice route.
The run indeed started on time, then, I felt scared. The heat was unbearable. I was feeling giddy. At first, I was still trying push hard to beat my time but halfway the course, I gave up. I thought I wouldn’t want to die in a 10km run..that’s just a little embarrasing for me.
Thankfully (Thank you Lord!), I still managed to finish the run, though, 7minutes later than my previous one (now,1hr 5mins). It was indeed the most extreme temperature-run I’ve ever participated in! I’m just glad I finished it..=)
