Today’s itinerary included Kowloon’s Walled City Park, where the famous city used to stand. The community was said to be self-sufficient despite how it looked like. They’ve had dentists, doctors etc. There. Businesses and factories proliferated there because they didn’t really charge them taxes (according to the video we watched from there). Their taxation and governing system was different as compared to other parts of HK. They also said that the buildings didn’t really have steel foundations within hence, staying there was like awaiting for it to collapse anytime. There was limited water supply and electricity as well. The walled city was completely demolished only in 1994. The park has opened in 1995.
After the walled city, we went to St John’s Chuch by taxi (because we were already late) to attend Sunday mass and to thank God for our enjoyable and safe journey. Then, we headed back to Ladies Market to shop a little bit more and then, we took our things from the accommodation, headed to Nathan Rd. to take the bus again to the airport for our departure.
And that concluded our HK-Macau Holiday. =)
