Chinese New Year Holiday in Hong Kong and Macau

18 – 22 Feb 2015 with mama and Papa

Few months back, I kept on insisting that I would already book for my family’s get-away but my parents kept on refusing. They said they didn’t want to leave our dog behind. Ok. It was settled that we wouldn’t anymore go anywhere for CNY, I stopped checking.

Then just 2 weeks before CNY, they decided to say YES. With eyes closed (coz the prices for flights and accommodations really shoot up), I booked for them. I did it because I really wanted to go somewhere with them. We have chosen HK because I know that, like Singapore, transportation is convenient there and in planning a trip with people who are older, I think it is very important. We stayed at Fortune Hotel in Mong Kok.

When I plan for trips, I would usually always have Nature, Culture and Adventure aspect, hence out itinerary went as follows:

Day 1: A day alone at Lamma Island.

Day 2: A day with them to Lantau Island via cable car (Tian tan Buddha and Tai O) and CNY parade near the harbour.

Day 3: Hongkong Island (Tram to Victoria’s peak, Star ferry to Tsim Sha Tsui(Kowloon island), Avenue of Stars with the CNY firework display)

Day 4: Macau

Day 5: Mongkok (Kowloon’s Walled city)
