I am not a huge Hello Kitty fan, but I liked her when I was younger. I joined this run to support my friends who, for the love of Hello Kitty, would be joining a run for the first time.
The sun was shining when we were at the starting point. We were all excitedly waiting. I didn’t really plan to run because I was going to follow their pace. However, mid-way, heavy rain started to fall. I didn’t water-proof my stuff, I didn’t bring umbrella, didn’t bring slippers and most of all, it was “my time of the month”. I omitted most of my running basics because I underestimated the run. I thought it would just be very fast and easy. Unfortunately, the downpour made it more challenging. So, I ended up running away from my friends anyway, yet still drenched.
Overall, the run was ok but I think, the organizers weren’t prepared for the said change of weather. It turned chaotic when the rain stopped. Aside from that, there weren’t much freebies after the race. While walking around the post-race booths, I, then, realized that it was really pricey, considering that it was just a 5km run. Someone asked me after the race, “The money from the race will go to which organization?” hmmm… I didn’t even check. So sad. I hope, they actually have a partner organisation…
