Tampines Bike Trail. 17 Nov 2013
It was my third time joining this race and still it didn’t fail to surprise and tire me.haha Anyway, this time I ran with Phil and Noel. Route was of course a concoction of gravel, sand, clay, water and mud! Yey. Yes, it varied therefore, it wasn’t at all boring. My favourite was the above–the-knee-deep stream crossing. I literally played in the waters.
There was one surprise that I couldn’t seem to grasp though. At the first water point, there were no paper cups and that made people drink in the “shared” water bottles held by the volunteers. I opened my mouth widely, made sure the water was slowly poured directly into the opening of the “o” I formed with my lips, and that the bottle hole wouldn’t touch my mouth. I deliberately did that for hygiene purposes and not for anything else. I was lucky that the water bottle I drank with was newly opened. They could have just informed us that we needed to bring our own bottles. We actually wouldn’t mind.
Other than that, everything else was just plain fun in the mud! =)
Note to self:
I guess I have to train more on running uphill because I just realized, I easily get exhausted in this running condition.
