Last weekend , as I have said in my previous entry, started differently. And it ended differently too..
Saturday night we attended Dennis’, our choir mate’s, 72th birthday party at St Theresa’s church, Kampong Bahru.
There were performances from The Los Pintos , The Evergreens and our very own, St. Gerard’s Choir. Songs played and sang were mostly oldies but goodies. It was a night full of dancing. I think I burned more than a thousand calories by just enjoying the music…by the way, it’s the type of dancing that looked like we’ve consumed multiple bottles of alcohol, but sorry to say, we did not. We just turned loco when there’s good music and when we’re together….=)
Los Pintos
Early morning the next day, I had to wake up at 5am. I joined Tiong Bahru Salomon Urban Trail Run. ( http://salomonx-trailrun.com/urban-trail-run ) Starting point was at Zhangde Primary School. To make the experience more fun, I met up with Kuya N. It’s always more fun to finish a run with a friend.
It’s a 14km run which passed by concrete roads, crushing my legs with stairs as high as heaven at Mt. Faber, Henderson Bridge, Alexandra Trail, about 2.5km of KTM railway track from Alexandra village.
I was expecting more trails but I only got 2.5km of it. Anyway, passing by these places, I figured there were still so many places here in Singapore I’ve yet to visit. We passed by places I’ve never seen before, thus making the run and experience more memorable and fun. Unfortunately, it was race, with a cut off of 2.5hrs. I didn’t have much time to enjoy (stop, breathe, and say ‘IM HERE’) the view as much as I wanted to. I promised myself, I’ll just go back again…properly made up and with camera..=)
After the race, Kuya N and I had brunch at the nearest Kopitiam. Reached home at about 12noon, and I had to prepare for church. We normally begin at 3:30pm but that day, we started at 2pm because of a scheduled meeting before the choir practice.
AHHHH! I had so much fun!!!
